As a DACA recipient, Amairani became heavily involved in the immigrant rights movement in college and has spent over 7 years at the forefront of the movement in Oklahoma and on a national scope, serving for several years as the Tulsa Director of Dream Action Oklahoma, an immigrant rights organization rooted in seeking liberation for undocumented communities in Oklahoma, and as a National Leaders Council Committee Member for United We Dream, the largest immigrant youth-led network in the country. She is a Commissioner for the City of Tulsa' Latinx Affairs Commission, the Hispanic Resource Center Coordinator for Tulsa City-County Library and Press Strategist for Neta Collab, a digital advocacy and social justice marketing firm.
Amairani received her BA in American Studies from Oklahoma State University and is currently a graduate student pursuing a Master’s in Library and Information Sciences and Archival Studies at The University of Oklahoma. She is currently working on her debut memoir, daughter of the desert/hija del desierto.
